15.06.2013 Saw the show dogs head to Cloughran in Dublin for the weekend, with the boys out of coat the emphasis of the weekend was for the two new puppies in Baby Puppy and for Heather who was doing some showing with Benji.

On day one at the Swords Championship Show both puppies won their classes but best puppy went to CluainUltaighs Cream of the Crop (Issy) and on Sunday at the Belgian Shepherd Group 1 & 2 Championship Show  the results turned around and CluainUltaighs Cream of the Barley (Barley) was in pole position and went on to be place 3rd In Best Baby Puppy, many thanks to Judge Jean lawless (Revloch).  It was a great two days work with the aim of the weekend to give experience to two very young puppies and to just enjoy the break away from home for Ruthe and Heather

02.02.2013: The CluainUltaigh show team returned to the ring, but this time they headed off to the continent.  It was their first trip to Europe and what an adventure, well at least it was for the dogs, after leaving for the show on Thursday, staying in a 4 Star Hotel and then appearing in an International show in Eindhoven, Holland.

The venue was in the centre of Eindhoven and had excellent facilities, the format for judging was slightly different but extremely enjoyable. The whole set up was for entertainment for the public as well as being pleasant for the exhibitor.  First into the ring was Semitar Spice Dream at CluainUltaigh (Benji) with Stephen as the handler and he was followed by Ruthe and Fearnach Blue Rhapsody at CluainUltaigh (Shadow) in the Open class. Shadow was placed first with Benji second, it was a nice start to the show for the show team, and in the Challenge Shadow gained his 2nd CACIB and Benji was awarded the Reserve CACIB.  It was a special moment for Ruthe on her return as a handler to the Show ring.

Next up was Milesend Corndolly (Lacey) on her return to the ring following a break for a new coat and a set of puppies. Lacey was in the Open class for the first time and to our delight she was placed first and in the challenge she gained her first CAC and her first CACIB.  To see Ruthe jump with delight did bring a tear to the eye of an old fool. Then in the BOB Challenge she unfortunately placed in Reserve but I do not think we really cared we had had a very nice day, learnt a lot, made some new friends, which I think was really the most important aspect of the whole day.

Would like to take this opportunity to thank Judge Pamela Runderkamp for seeing in our dogs what we do and awarding them so highly and for making our trip to Holland so memorable.
